Karachi: Organ transplantation is the key to curb diseases of Kidney and liver was the underlying message delivered at a seminar held recently at Dewan Farooq Medical Center SIUT in collaboration with Greenwich University Karachi and HUM TV.
Prof Ejaz Khan of SIUT while addressing the seminar highlighted the fact that transplantation of various human organs is being successfully performed around the world and we should also promote transplantation of organs in Pakistan. With diseases like diabetes on the rise transplantation it is time to promote organ donation welfare in the country and stressed the need of promoting the culture of organ donation to get rid of liver, kidney and other diseases, Prof Ejaz said.
Professor Adib Rizvi Director, SIUT, appreciated the efforts of both institutions for making efforts to create awareness about transplantation and organ donation.
The importance of transplantation and organ donation for a healthy life was highlighted through two films; PACHTAWA (Regret) a 10 minutes produced by the students of Mass Communication Department of Greenwich University Karachi and Zindagi a docu-drama by HUM TV team.
Prominent among those who attended the seminar included Director SIUT Professor Adib Rizvi, President, HUM television, Sultana Siddiqui, Dr AQ Mughal Professor Greenwich University and Dr Murli Lal.
