SDI Stage Demo for Regularization and Restoration Of Doctors

KARACHI-Sindh Doctors Ittehad (SDI), staged a protest demonstration for regularization of contract doctors and restoration of doctors sacked by National Institute of Cardiovascular (NICVD) administration.

The protesters were led by President Sindh Doctors Ittehad, Dr. Muhammad Ali Thalu, Dr. Kamal Ansari, Dr. Shabbir Memon,  Dr. Abdul Waheed,  Dr. Ghulam Ali, Dr. Sadia , Dr. Zain, Dr. Ayaz Soomro , Dr. Nisar Shah and others.

They all carried placards and banners inscribed with different slogans  displaying their current requirements. Time-scale promotions for doctors, increase in allowances, regularization of contract doctors and reinstate sacked doctors on their posts, were many of their needs.

President,  Sindh Doctors Ittehad, Dr. Muhammad Ali Thalu, said that the doctors and paramedical staff working in Peoples Primary Health Initiative (PPHI), a non-governmental organization, have been deprived of all their basic rights during service. He urged the Sindh Government to regularize contract doctors and paramedical staff on their posts and put forward the bill in Sindh Assembly for regularization of all contract health practitioners working in various health facilities of Sindh.
Dr. Sadia added that, nepotism and favoritism were on the rise at National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD) since last few years. Dozens of doctors had been terminated from their services by NICVD administration in past few months. She demanded of the Chief Justice of Pakistan, Co-chairman PPP Asif Ali Zardari, Chairman PPP, Bilawal Bhutto  and other authorities, to take notice of mismanagement in NICVD and reinstate sacked doctors.

The doctors gave a 5-day ultimatum to Sindh Government, for implementation of all their needs, otherwise Sindh-wide protest demonstration will be held till the acceptance of genuine demands.
