ISLAMABAD: Rehman Malik, a former senator and Interior Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, died owing to COVID-19.
Riaz Ahmad Turi, the senator's spokesperson, said that Malik had been hospitalised due to COVID-19 and severely damaged his lungs.
According to reports, he was admitted to the intensive care unit of a private hospital in Islamabad on February 1 after testing positive for the COVID-19.
His widow and two sons are the only ones left to carry on his legacy.
