Experts focuses on modern ENT surgery techniques

KARACHI: The International conference on ENT titled ‘The 3rd RhinoCon 2020’ hosted by the Society of Rhinology and Endoscopic Skull Base Surgery was recently held at a local hotel over the weekend. Around 400 head & neck surgeons from all over Pakistan gathered in Karachi for the conference to learn latest surgery techniques from international experts. Renowned ENT surgeon Dr Amin Javer from Canada and Dr Hussam Elbosraty from Egypt were the distinguished master trainers at the conference.

Chairman of the conference and Vice Chancellor of the Jinnah Sindh Medical University (JSMU), Prof S.M. Tariq Rafi said the workshops at the conference provided hands-on training in the latest techniques of endoscopic surgery, which typically costs thousands of dollars abroad.

Speaking at the final day of the conference, Prof Tariq Rafi said that this conference was an important opportunity for building the capacity of local head and neck surgeons in modern surgery. He added that it was heartening to see a knowledge-based event went smoothly in the city of Karachi alongside cricket and other festivals this season.

The conference included two memorial lectures for Professor Heinz Stammberger and Prof Mehmood Raza and six state-of-the-art lectures.
