On tragically losing a minor, Nashwa, to the incompetency of our healthcare system, the nation is in mourning. To add to the grief, two more cases of alleged medical negligence have recently come to light in Multan and Rawalpindi. In both the cases, the victims lost their lives.

As per the reports, the patient in Multan passed away after the hospital staff allegedly administered a higher-than-required dosage of anaesthetic, whereas the one in Rawalpindi died due to what was claimed to be a wrong injection.

Mohammad Asif, a resident of Jahanian area in Multan, was brought to a private hospital on Nishtar Road after fracturing his arm. The family alleges that during the operation, Asif was administered the anaesthetic in excessive amount during, which caused his death.

The responsible staff fled after protests of the bereaved family.

The case in Rawalpindi was of 20-yr-old Shakir Ali, who was admitted into a private hospital on April 17th for fever. His family claims that he was given the wrong medicine, which caused his condition to deteriorate. Ali was then shifted to the Holy Family Hospital, where he died.

The family staged a protest alongside his dead body at the town's Siddiqui Chowk.
