MULTAN: Women University Multan joined the global campaign for breast cancer awareness by marking Pink Ribbon Day, dedicated to promoting early detection and education on the disease.
Breast cancer is one of the most prevalent and potentially fatal illnesses affecting women globally, making early diagnosis essential for successful treatment and survival.
The event, held on the varsity campus under the Directorate of Student Affairs, included a symbolic walk, various stalls, and fundraising activities, participated by students, faculty, and staff to support the cause.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Kalsoom Pracha, Registrar Prof. Dr. Mamoona Khan, and Director of Student Affairs Dr. Adeela Saeed visited the stalls.
Addressing the audience, Prof Pracha highlighted the significance of Pink Ribbon Day, urging students to prioritise regular check-ups and early diagnosis. “Awareness and education are vital tools in the fight against breast cancer,” she said.
Prof Mamoona said the university conducts annual campaigns to raise awareness about breast cancer, emphasising the importance of spreading the message to the wider community.
Dr. Adeela reiterated the university’s commitment to global health issues, stating that Women University’s involvement in Pink Ribbon Day reflects its dedication to health and wellness.
