Illegal admissions-Heads of 3 nursing schools to face the music

KARACHI- Around 69 `illegal’ admissions were given by principals of three male nursing schools of Sindh in their respective institutions in 2013, according to findings of a probe committee.

Sources in Sindh health department said that the inquiry committee formed by the department to look into the alleged charges of giving unlawful admissions in three male nursing schools of the province - School of Nursing, Lyari; Sir CJ School of Nursing, Hyderabad and School of Nursing, Jacobabad – in 2013, has been accomplished and show-cause notices have already been issued to the officials found guilty of indulging in such unlawful acts. 

Quoting inquiry report, the sources said that principal of Lyari’s male Nursing School was found guilty of giving 15 `fake’ and `illegal’ admissions in the institution in 2013 batch, principal of Sir CJ School of Nursing, Hyderabad, reportedly admitted 27 students against merit under self-financing scheme, whereas a similar number of admissions were given by the principal of School of Nursing, Jacobabad, in violation of merit under the self-financing scheme.

All of them will soon face disciplinary action for their crime of violating merit while giving admissions in their respective institutions, they added.
