ISLAMABAD: In Muzaffarabad, Azad Kashmir, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) and the World Food Program (WFP) started a life-saving emergency nutrition support project for severely malnourished children and pregnant and nursing women.

Mohammed Khalaf Al-Enezi, the Kingdom's Deputy Ambassador to Pakistan, was there, along with  Abdul Majid Khan, Nassar Ansar Abdali, Dr Khalid bin Mohammed Al-Othmani, Director of KSrelief Branch in Pakistan, and Rathi PalaKrishnan, WFP's Deputy County Director.

Nutrition Program in Pakistan

The project includes giving malnourished children food packages that last a whole month and giving pregnant and breastfeeding women food packages with vitamins and nutritional supplements.

Health centres sent the food packages to people in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Azad Jammu, and Kashmir. They helped 57,500 people, including 30,444 children and 27,056 pregnant or nursing women.

The project is part of what Saudi Arabia, which the Center represents, is doing to help other countries in need of humanitarian aid.
