ISLAMABAD/KARACHI: Pakistan witnessed 7,815 dog bite cases only during the last week, reports the National Institute of Health (NIH).
NIH data shows Punjab saw the highest number of incidents with 5,158 cases, Sindh 1,975, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 475, while Balochistan reported 91 incidents. Azad Kashmir had 112 cases, and Gilgit-Baltistan reported 4 cases.
The alarming rise in dog bite cases underscores the urgent need for effective measures to control the stray dog population and ensure public safety.
