International community urged to contribute to health security

LAHORE: The caretaker Federal Health Minister, Dr Nadeem Jan, has urged the international community to play its role in ensuring global health security.

Addressing a workshop on "National Action Plan for Health Security”, Mr Jan stressed that safeguarding humanity from diseases is a collective responsibility, urging concerted efforts to ensure health security.

He acknowledged the Punjab government's initiatives to improve health facilities and stressed the need for continuing these efforts.

Punjab caretaker Health Minister, Dr Javed Akram, echoed the sentiment, stating that health security is a fundamental right of every citizen.

He recommended the inclusion of health security in the country's national policy, recognizing the challenges faced by Pakistan in the health sector. Dr Akram also advised the people to adopt a healthier lifestyle for an improved quality of life.

Caretaker Punjab Minister for Primary and Secondary Healthcare, Dr. Jamal Nasir, highlighted the government's continuous efforts to provide optimal facilities to the public, underscoring his commitment to enhancing healthcare services.

Meanwhile, in a separate seminar on extending health facilities through mosques, Dr. Nadeem Jan commended the initiatives in the health sector and expressed confidence in their positive outcomes.

He emphasized the multifaceted role of mosques, envisioning a society marked by happiness, educational advancement, progress, and tranquility.

Dr Jan called for replicating successful models in mosques nationwide, drawing inspiration from the organizational structure given by the Holy Prophet (PBUH).

He reiterated his ministry's commitment to creating a healthy and prosperous society through continuous efforts.
