COVID situation: Sindh reports 12 death, 716 new cases

KARACHI: As many as 12 more patients of COVID-19 died overnight, lifting the death toll to 3,855 and 716 new cases diagnosed when 6,380 tests were conducted.

In a recent statement issued from the CM House, it was reported that 12 more patients of the coronavirus died overnight, lifting the death toll to 3,855 that constituted a 1.6 percent death rate.

Shah said that 6,380 samples were tested, which diagnosed 716 cases that constituted an 11.2 percent current detection rate. He added that so far, 2,605,251 tests have been conducted against which 239,186 cases emerged; of them, 90.6 percent or 216,920 patients have recovered, including 775 overnight.

The CM said that 18,411 patients were currently under treatment; of them, 17,434 were in home isolation, 13 at isolation centers, and 964 at different hospitals. He added that the condition of 877 patients was stated to be critical, including 89 who have been shifted to ventilators.

According to the statement, out of 716 new cases, 630 have been detected from Karachi, including 219 from East, 171 South, 102 Korangi, 58 Central and West 41, and 39 Malir. Hyderabad has 37 cases, Jamshoro and Sukkur 10 each, Larkana three, Khairpur, Ghotki, Mirpurkhas, and Sanghar and Thatta one each. The CM urged the people of the province to stay safe by following the SOPs.
