KARACHI-  It recently came to notice, that the construction work of ‘School of Nursing’ at Karachi Institute of Heart Diseases (KIHD) has not been completed yet, despite the passage of several years.
The School of Nursing along with the Nursing Hostel building, were constructed under Annual Development Program of Government of Sindh and Karachi Metropolitan Corporation at KIHD.

The ground, plus three story building of the School of Nursing comprises of one class-room, an auditorium, library, a seminar hall and hostel.

The project was delayed due to lethargic behavior of Works and Services Department of Sindh and the designated contractor. The plan to initiate admissions by September 2017 in School Of Nursing were also kept on hold, resulting in further delay.

Senior Director, Medical & Health Services of Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC), Dr,  Birbal Genani, stated that, the Works and Services Department of Sindh hasn’t handed over the building to Medical & Health Services Department, KMC yet.
He also clarified that the construction work of School of Nursing at KIHD was delayed due to some other legal issues. And that, admissions in School of Nursing will soon commence, after formally handing over the building to KMC authorities.
