Blood donation camp and awareness walk by Weatherford Oil Tools

KARACHI- Omair Sana Foundation organized a health awareness seminar and blood donation camp with the support of Human Resource Department of Weatherford Oil Tools Ltd recently.

All employees and management of the company was actively involved in this health awareness activity. Body Mass Index (BMI) and blood pressure were also examined.
Briefing the audience Dr Fauad, the focal person of the company, detailed the aim and Objectives of this activity. Akber, Malik Imtiaz and Arshad Aslam were also present at the occasion.

Dr Rahat Hussain delivered a presentation on physical, mental and social health issues and how to avoid these ailments. He said that discovery of magic drug by Dr Saqib Hussain Ansari has helped many thalassaemia children. He stressed that; the coordinated thalassaemia awareness campaign will help control its spread.

He said pre- marriage thalassaemia test is a key for the prevention. He also motivated the audience for a voluntarily blood donation. Director Human Resource, Ms Jimmy, thanked the audience and Omair Sana Foundation for their support and cooperation. She appreciated efforts of Omair Sana Foundation against thalassaemia and said that collective struggle is needed to prevent it.

She showed a commitment for support in this prevention program. She also stressed upon certain exercises which should be followed routinely by the employees who are doing mechanical work.   Later, a blood donation camp was also organized where employees donated their blood voluntarily for thalassaemia children.
