KARACHI: According to a recent report, about 6000 snake-bite cases have been reported from multiple Sindh government-run health facilities this year from January till the end of August, out of which 700 were recorded in Karachi.
As per the statistics issued by the Sindh Health Department, around 6000 snake-bite cases were recorded across the province. The majority of cases were reported from Badin (964), Tharparkar (623), Khairpur (471), Qambar Shahdadkot (383), Thatta (347), Sujawal (334), Dadu (333) and others.
Approximately 700 snake-bite patients received treatment in Karachi’s health facilities. Two hundred ninety cases were reported to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC), while the rest of the cases were reported from other health facilities.
No deaths have been reported from snake-bites in the Sindh province this year so far.
