Dispensary shut down after roof collapsed and injured a lady

Karachi: The administration department of the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) has decided to shut down a dispensary located in Kiamari town after the unfortunate incident where a part of the roof fell on lady health visitor recently.

According to the administration, KMC has taken immediate steps in closing down the Maripur Village Dispensary after Shaheen Akhtar sustained injury when a portion of the roof collapsed, during duty hours.

The lady health visitor was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi for treatment. The officers urged concerned authorities to provide an alternate building to be used as a dispensary.

The staff told media that they had written several letters to authorities regarding the deteriorated state of the current dispensary building, but had not received any positive response or repair teams to address the issue. They stated that the ignorance and lack of responsibility on the part of authorities had led to this unfortunate incident.
