Kidnappers release Doctor, kidnapped in Karachi over a monetary dispute.

Karachi - 22nd June, 2014: Dr. Shafiq Ahmed, who owns a private hospital – Ali Medical Center in Karachi, was recently kidnapped from his house in DHA phase II, by armed men. However, due to prompt response from the law enforcers, the abducted doctor was released by the kidnappers and he came home safely.

According to the SP of Clifton Police - Ibadat Nisar; Dr Shafiq was kidnapped by a rival group, due to some personal dispute. It was not a “Kidnapping for Ransom” case. In fact, it proved to be a personal dispute involving payment of money, which led to the doctor's abduction.

As soon as the doctor's family informed the Madadgar 15 and the police, the law enforcers responded immediately and identified the culprits through evidence-collection and the statements of given by the doctor's guards. Due to the pressure created by the police action, the abducted doctor was released by this kidnappers soon. The police is still investigating the matter thoroughly to take legal action against the criminal offense.

The Pakistan Medical Association has condemned this criminal act against the doctor and demanded of the government to provide security to all doctors.
