176 doctors lost their lives in the fight against COVID-19

KARACHI: As many as 207 healthcare workers have died due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) across Pakistan, including 176 doctors, 30 nurses and paramedical staff, and a medical student.    

According to the statistics shared by the Pakistan Medical Association (PMA-Centre), COVID-19 has claimed the lives of 69 doctors in Punjab, 54 in Sindh, 44 Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, five in Balochistan, three in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and one in Gilgit-Baltistan, respectively.  

In Sindh, 60 healthcare professionals died due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) in the Sindh province so far, including 54 doctors and six other medical staff.  

The statistics said that 12 staff nurses, nine paramedical staff, three dispensers, one pharmacist, and five other medical support staff members have died of COVID-19 in the country so far.      

A medical student of the Khyber Girls Medical College (KGMC), Peshawar, also lost her life due to COVID-19.
