KARACHI: Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) registrar Dr Halar Sheikh has warned that the risk of adenoviral infections has increased with the change of weather, urging precautions to curb it.
He says usually the patients infected with adenovirus get cured after taking complete rest for two to three days.
However, the JPMC registrar urged the elderly persons, and those suffering from asthma and diabetes to be especially careful as this infection could aggravate into pneumonia because of poor nutrition and lack of precaution.
Dr Sheikh said to avoid the spread of this virus, people should avoid handshakes and desist from eating out, especially during the ongoing weather.
