WHO pledge to support HIV affected population

KARACHI: Dr Palitha Mahipala, the WHO representative in Pakistan, recently paid a visit to Larkana and Ratodera, Sindh.

The visit began with Dr Palitha Mahipala administrating polio drops to children at the Sukkur airport as a part of the ongoing National Immunization Days (NIDs) campaign in the country. Dr Palitha emphasized on vaccinating children to save them from a crippling disease.

Meanwhile, Dr Palitha Mahipala, along with Dr Azra Pechuho Minister of Health and Population, also inaugurated the NID campaign in the presence of Polio Emergency Operating Center representative, Asalif Demissie, team lead for the WHO, along with the Commissioner of Larkana and the Area Coordinator of Polio.

Dr Palitha Mahipala pledged to continue supporting the HIV outbreak affected population and inaugurated refurbished labor rooms and Nutrition Stabilization Centers in Larkana and Ratodero.
