PMA concerned at surge in dengue, malaria and chickungunya

KARACHI: Expressing serious concern over the surge in dengue, malaria, and chikungunya cases across the country, the Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) has said that these diseases are preventable through proper measures and increased public awareness.
The PMA has urged the government to take immediate action to curb the spread of these illnesses and safeguard public health, especially among the poorer and underprivileged communities. 
It emphasized the need for key preventive measures, including effective sanitation, mosquito control, and public health education, to reduce the incidence of these diseases.
The association called on the authorities to prioritise the health and well-being of all citizens, irrespective of socio-economic background, and to allocate sufficient resources to implement strategies aimed at combating the spread of these preventable diseases.
The PMA reaffirmed its readiness to support government efforts for preventing the further spread of dengue, malaria, and chikungunya in the country.
