KARACHI: About three dozen of employees of the Sindh Health Department had been tested positive for COVID-19.
Health officials tested the Sindh Secretariat's 84 employees were tested for the COVID-19 by health officials, and 19 of them came to be positive.
As a result, the infected staffers had been sent to complete the quarantine period.
The provincial health department filed a letter to the Services General Administration and Coordination Department (SGA&CD), Sindh, requesting that unauthorised individuals be barred from entering the Sindh Secretariat.
In their letter, the health authorities also requested that the COVID-19 standard operating procedures (SOPs) be strictly followed in the Sindh Secretariat building.
It is worth noting that Karachi is experiencing an alarming increase in daily COVID-19 cases during the fifth wave of the pandemic, which is being fueled by the Omicron variant of COVID-19.
