Two polio workers killed in road mishap

KHUZDAR: Two polio workers were killed in an accident in Mastung recently.

Levies officials said that polio worker, Haji Nizamuddin Qambrani was returning to Mastung along with the lady worker in a vehicle after administrating polio drops to children in the Killi Khud-Kocha area. Their vehicle was hit with a truck on the Quetta-Karachi Highway.

The two workers suffered serious injuries and were taken to Nawab Ghous Bakhsh Raisani Memorial Hospital by Levies personnel, but they died before receiving any medical aid.

A case has been registered against the truck driver and further investigation is under way.
