Pakistan’s largest blood donation Expo

KARACHI - A leading non-profit organization named - Help International Welfare Trust (HIWT) will be conducting the largest blood donation campaign and the biggest BLOOD Donor Expo in Pakistan on 29th March 2015. More than 20,000 young donors are expected to visit the grand and noble event, being held at the Karachi Expo Center. The organizers are preparing for collection of an estimated 5000 units of blood donations in a single day.

Some of the major events orchestrated by HIWT in the past, include; Free Thalassemia Minor Screening Camp, Fun Gala, First CME on Introduction on Thalassemia, Awareness sessions at various universities, Umeed e Sehar, Blood Donation Camp, Learnaholic, Help Carnival 2014 and “Spend a Day with Thalassemic Children”.

HIWT Medical and Dental Conference.

Another major initiative being launched by H.I.W.T. and 24.7 Brand-On is - A medical and dental conference in the first half of the day, for all the medical students, dental students and doctor belonging to different faculties and specialities. The event will end with a family function and Award Ceremony for NGOs working on health and other related fields.

HIWT is trying to create and promote the culture of Blood Donation in the Pakistani society, by inspiring the youth to donate blood every three months, regularly. Thalassemia status cards & blood group cards are also being created for distribution among the participants of its events.

The event will comprise of numerous activities including; A Blood Donation Camp, Medical & Dental Conference, Public Awareness Session on Current Medical Problems in the Society, Family Fun Show, Gifts for blood donors (caps, wrist bands or t-shirts), Certificates for volunteers, Awards for the leading organisations working on health. The specialities included in the agenda of the conference are; Hematology, Gynecology, Obstetrics, Paediatrics, Cardiovascular, Oncology, General Medicine, Orthopedics, and Dentistry.

The organizations supporting this event include; Sindh Health Department, International Blood Donor Agencies, all Blood Banks of Pakistan, NGOS working in blood Diseases and other fields,     Pharma Associations, Doctors Associations, All Universities & Colleges, Civil Society, Student Associations, Scouts Associations, Health Organizations and the Media houses.
