JSMU Alumni donate equipment worth Rs 2 crore to JPMC 

 KARACHI: JSMU Alumni donate five endoscopy units worth Rs 2 crore to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) through JSMU to expand the existing endoscopy facility at JPMC.  

 Prof Amjad Siraj Memon, Vice Chancellor of Jinnah Sindh Medical University, said on the handover of new endoscopy units to JPMC that the inclusion of modern machines in Ward 7 will facilitate proper diagnosis and treatment of liver, stomach, small and large intestine diseases. 

 In this regard, a ceremony was held in the office of JPMC Executive Director, Prof Dr Shahid Rasool, in which Dr Azam Khan, Registrar of Jinnah Sindh Medical University, Director of Affiliated Colleges and Chair of Alumni Affairs Dr Rahat Naaz and President of Pakistan Physicians Society Dr Asif Syed, Dr Syed Masroor Ahmed, Dr Zeeshan and others participated. 

On this occasion, Prof Shahid Rasool said that patients come to Jinnah Hospital from all over the country, especially from remote areas of Sindh for treatment and many patients visit the endoscopy ward. But now the pressure will be reduced and the patients will be able to get the fastest diagnosis facility. 

 Pakistan Physicians Society, Jinnah Sindh Medical University Alumni Association of North America (JSMUAANA) and SMC Class of 1995 supported the procurement of endoscopes. 

 Later in the event, the participants visited JPMC's Endoscopy Department Ward 7 and reviewed the performance of modern machines. 

After the induction of these machines, the facility of Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) will also be started.
