LAHORE: The 50th meeting of the University of Health Sciences (UHS) Board of Studies in Medicine has finalized the schedule for the upcoming Professional MBBS annual exams.
The meeting was presided over by UHS Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Ahsan Waheed Rathore, attended by the principals of both government and private medical colleges affiliated with UHS.
As per the schedule, the exams will commence with the First Professional MBBS exams to be held in the last week of December 2024. The Second Professional MBBS exams are slated for the last week of January 2025, followed by the Third Professional MBBS exams to be held in the third week of December 2024.
Similarly, the Fourth Professional MBBS exams are scheduled for the second week of January 2025, and the final Professional MBBS exams will take place in the first week of February 2025.
A UHS spokesperson stated that the examination timetable was developed based on feedback from affiliated medical colleges concerning the timing of MBBS classes. To be eligible for these exams, students must complete a minimum of nine months of the academic year, followed by a one-month preparation period.
In line with a recent Supreme Court ruling, the meeting also decided that students who fail their supplementary exams will not be permitted to advance to the next class. Furthermore, the identities of external examiners for practical exams will remain confidential, even from college administrations.
