KARACHI: A medical professional from Hamdard University Hospital, Dr. Hina Ambreen, tragically lost her life in accident while on her way to work due to the city’s deteriorating road conditions. 
Dr. Hina, who served as manager of clinical affairs at Naimat Begum Hamdard University Hospital, was on her way to her workplace when she fell from her motorbike after hitting a pothole, suffering severe head injuries. Despite receiving urgent medical care, she succumbed to her injuries the following day. 
Her death marks a significant loss to the medical community, as she was a dedicated and hardworking professional who had devoted years to her training.
Colleagues and friends remember Dr. Hina as a compassionate individual, deeply committed to her patients, colleagues, and the hospital staff. Her untimely death highlights the ongoing risks faced by residents navigating Karachi’s hazardous roads.
Despite contributing 70pc of the country’s taxes, Karachi’s infrastructure remains in a dire state, with residents enduring broken roads, water shortages, and frequent power outages. 
The city’s population continues to raise concerns over the inequitable distribution of resources, calling for reforms that reflect Karachi’s economic contributions.
