KARACHI: Dengue fever has claimed two more lives in Karachi, bringing the total number of dengue-related deaths to 11.
The Vector-Borne Diseases (VBD) Department of Directorate General Health Services Sindh confirmed an additional two deaths in Karachi Central, bringing the total number of fatalities attributed to dengue-related complications to eleven in the city.
Eleven deaths have been attributed to dengue fever, with six occurring in Karachi East, three in Karachi Central, and one in Karachi South and District Malir.
In the past twenty-four hours, at least 388 new dengue cases have been reported in the province of Sindh, including 324 in the Karachi division.
From January 1 to September 16, 2022, 5,203 dengue cases were reported in the province, with 4,676 occurring in Karachi.
Similarly, 2,634 cases of dengue fever have been documented so far in September, including 2,469 cases in the Karachi division.
So far this year, there have been 1,873 dengue cases documented in Karachi East, followed by 1,012 in Karachi Central, 836 in Karachi South, 450 in District Korangi, and 215 in Malir District.
