KARACHI - Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) is organizing the first ever PAK-CHINA MEDICAL CONGRESS (MED-CONG) from 08th to 10th January 2016 at the Marriot Hotel Karachi. This joint congress of Pakistan Medical Association and the Chinese Medical Association (CMA) is being planned as an initiative of ‘Pak-China Medical Corridor’, which is a vital part of the ‘Pak-China Economic Corridor’.
The Medical Congress (Med-Cong) will feature many Scientific Sessions. The Arts Council of Pakistan has been selected as the venue for social, cultural and community awareness programs, which are a part of this grand event.
The Business sessions will be held at the PMA House, Sir Aga Khan III Road, Karachi. The Conference will feature numerous health experts from China and SAARC countries to deliver, insightful lectures on a variety of medical and scientific topics of common interest along with state-of-the-art, medical technologies. The experience and knowledge shared at the Conference will be extensive and diversified, in terms of magnitude and substance.
A number of Medical Specialties have joined hands with the PMA in organizing the scientific sessions. Over the three days of the Conference, there will be eight parallel sessions. In his capacity as the Chairman of the Scientific Programs of the Conference - Prof. M. Idrees Adhi is overlooking all affairs related to this critical component of the Conference.
Discussions and community awareness programs will highlight issues like Population Control, Maternal & Child Health, Reproductive Health, Blindness, Safe Drinking Water, Addiction, Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs), Environment and Human Rights. Known Civil Society proponents will be participating in these events. A Scientific and Trade Exhibition will also be organized during this mega event, in which Heavy Medical Equipment and products will be displayed.
This Medical Corridor will also pave the way for promoting medical tourism in both the countries. Pre-conference Workshops and Seminars will also be held at different medical institutions of the city, along with the premises of the PMA House. These will cover different topics of medical interest from 25th December 2015 onward.
An impressive inaugural ceremony is planned for 08th January 2016, at Karachi Marriott Hotel. The Honorable Prime Minister of Pakistan has already been invited and is likely to grace the event as the Chief Guest.
All Scientific Sessions, Seminars and Workshops would be recognized as part of Continuous Medical Education (CME). The CME credit hours will be awarded to all the registered participants, attending the scientific sessions.
