KARACHI: Jinnah Sindh Medical University (JSMU) recently announced the results of its Hajj balloting for staff members (Grade 01 to 16 or equivalent) for the performance of Hajj on the university's expenses for the year 2025.
Through a transparent balloting process, JSMU selected two employees - one from the regular staff category and one from the contractual staff category - to perform Hajj at the university's expense. Two more names from each category were selected as waiting candidates in case the initially selected employees are unable to perform Hajj.
JSMU Vice Chancellor Professor Amjad Siraj Memon presided over the Hajj balloting ceremony and congratulated the selected employees, stating that it was the university's duty to support the spiritual well-being of its staff. He urged the selected employees to pray for the prosperity of the university and the country.
The selected employees are Fareed Ur Rehman Siddiqui (Naeb Qasid at Biochemistry, JSMU) and Syed Shah Asim Hussain (Junior Clerk at SIOHS-JSMU). Jawaid Khan (Technician at Store Section, JSMU) and Huzoor Buksh (Naib Qasib at VC Secretariat, JSMU) from each category were selected as waiting candidates.
The eligibility criteria for the JSMU Hajj Scheme included: Regular or contractual employees of JSMU from BPS-1 to BPS-16 or equivalent, Minimum 7 years of service at JSMU as of June 2025, Must remain in service until June 2025, and Have not performed Hajj in the past.
The ceremony was attended by JSMU Registrar Dr. Azam Khan, Director HR Dr. Rahat Naz, Director Admissions Dr. Fatima Abid, Director Administration Sohrab Zaman, Principal SIOHS Dr. Zubair Abbasi, Head of Physiology Dr. Noor un Nisa.
