KARACHI: The Aga Khan University Hospital (AKUH) held a public awareness session to mark World Diabetes Day, providing crucial information and resources to help manage and prevent diabetes.
The three-hour event featured expert talks, interactive activities, live demonstrations, and a Q&A session with AKUH specialists.
The panel of experts underscored the importance of exercise, balanced diets, and routine medical check-ups in managing diabetes, a condition linked to numerous serious health risks. They stressed the value of early detection through regular consultations and tests.
During the event the participants benefited from free health screenings, including assessments of blood glucose, cholesterol, HbA1c levels, blood pressure, BMI, waist circumference, and body fat.
Through interactive booths the participants were offered engaging activities such as games, quizzes, and demonstrations of cutting-edge diabetes management technologies.
