KARACHI- The Young Doctors Association (YDA) Sindh, postponed their ongoing protest demonstration, after acquiring assurance from Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre’s (JPMC) Management.
The representatives of YDA, Sindh held a meeting with Executive Director, JPMC, Dr. Seemin Jamali to resolve the issues of young doctors. The doctors presented a charter of demands, and were assured that the genuine demands would be accepted as per law. The doctors resumed their duties and Out-Patient Department Services.
Large number of patients faced problems, as young doctors forcibly closed the OPDs whilst protest against the registration of an FIR against a colleague who allegedly assaulted a patient in the emergency department. Saddar Police registered a case against Dr. Usman Zafar, over charges of torturing a patient after he complained of delay in treatment.
JPMC Executive Director, Dr. Seemin Jamali, informed that the young doctors ended their protest and boycott of duties after negotiation. And that, JPMC’s administration is ready to assist the doctor for withdrawal of FIR lodged against their colleague.
