Amir Khan praises PRC’s medical support to boxers

KARACHI - The Pakistan Red Crescent (PRC) Sindh has provided medical support to an international boxing event organized here by world boxing champion Amir Khan. European boxers participated in the competition.

“The boxing event was organised by Amir Khan Trust to raise funds for a project of two wells in drought-hit Thar parkar area. The PRC-Sindh medical team under the supervision of Dr Muzzamil Pervaiz conducted pre-contest medical examination of European boxers, including county champ Jody, Stuart, Mickle, Philip and others.
The medical support also carried out post contest medical examination with first aid provided to the injured boxers. During the event, an ambulance and medical staff,with two paramedics and as many doctors, remained present at the event’s venue.
Amir Khan appreciated the support and medical facilities extended to the players by the PRC’s medical team.
Earlier, Dr Muzzamil informed Amir Khan that PRC is also installing 13 solar water pumps, besides providing safe drinking water to residents of Thar parkar.
