MN Report
Karachi: Management of Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) has recruited lower grade staff and posted seven senior medical officers as deputy directors without seeking any prior approval from Sindh Health department.

Sources claimed that the incumbent JPMC administration has, on the one hand, posted seven grade 17 medical officers as deputy directors in grade 18 and, on the other hand, recruited lower grade staff without getting permission from provincial health department.

They also alleged that a deputy director of JPMC’s Admin department has appointed around a dozen of his close relativities as drivers, gardeners, peon and one some other lower grade posts.
JPMC’s focal person Dr Jawaid Akhter Jamali, when contacted, said that the hospital’s administration has recruited lower grade staff from private fund to overcome the shortage of employees in the health facility.

However, sources claimed that the hospital has been facing acute shortage of doctors, nurses and paramedical staff for the last five years as its status in the wake 18th Amendment is yet to be decided and the matter is sub judice.
