Gallup survey reveals most famous political leader in Pakistan

KARACHI: Nawaz Sharif, Supremo of Pakistan Muslim League - Nawaz (PMLN), enjoys 58 per cent support in Punjab, 46 per cent in KP, and 51 per cent in Sindh. 

In contrast, Imran Khan's popularity had dropped significantly, with 46 per cent in KP and 33 per cent in Sindh and Punjab.

Nawaz Sharif gained 46 per cent of the vote in KP, followed by Imran Khan (44 percent), Shehbaz Sharif (43 percent), Bilawal Bhutto (24 percent), and Asif Zardari (24 percent). 

Satisfaction with Imran Khan, Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, had declined significantly in KP, falling to 44 per cent from 67 per cent two months ago and from 26 per cent to 24 per cent for Bilawal Bhutto.

Since December 2018, Gallup Pakistan found Nawaz Sharif to be more popular than Shehbaz Sharif for the first time. However, the popularity of Imran Khan had fallen from 51 per cent in 2018 to 33 per cent. While the Bilawal Bhutto's percentage rose from 18 to 24 percent at the time.

In Sindh, the survey found that Nawaz Sharif had a 51 per cent favourable rating, followed by Shehbaz Sharif with 41 per cent, Bilawal Bhutto with 37 per cent, Imran Khan with 33 per cent, and Asif Ali Zardari with 31 per cent. Gallup's latest survey showed that the popularity of Imran Khan had actually risen from 33pc in 2018 to 51pc in 2019. In contrast, the popularity of Nawaz Sharif and Shehbaz Sharif climbed from just 12 per cent and 40 per cent to 51 per cent and 41 per cent, respectively. On the other hand, Bilawal Bhutto had seen his popularity ratings fall from 54 per cent to 39 per cent in his home region, and it had now fallen to 37 percent.
