KARACHI: Workers at Sindh Government Children Hospital, North Nazimabad Karachi, staged a protest over a nine-month salary delay.

As a result of the strike at Children's Hospitals, Abbasi Shaheed Hospital and the National Institute of Child Health had to deal with an increased workload.

The Poverty Eradication Initiative (PEI) is in charge of running the facility. According to the protesting workers, nine months of wages have been withheld from employees. For more than a year now, the Sindh government has not provided the PEI with a budget.

At least 2,500 people visit the 200-bed hospital's numerous OPDs each day. However, due to the protest, work pressure has increased in other hospitals, including Abbasi Shaheed and NICH.
