Peshawar- On November 14th, World Diabetic Day was celebrated at Prime Medical Complex, Warsak Road, Peshawar. There was a free medical OPD from November 12th to 14th, at Prime Medical Complex, wherein free medical checkups, screening of diabetes and hypertension, and medicines were being provided. 350 needy patients benefitted from this set up.
PIMA along with Chief Executive of the Medical Complex, Dr Abdul Samad, arranged the concluding ceremony on November 14th. The chairperson for the event was Dr Najeebul Haq, Dean Peshawar Medical College. The ceremony started with recitation from the Holy Quran. After that Dr Samad welcomed all the participants. Medical Superintendent Dr Zia presented a report on the hospital’s activities during the three-day campaign along with the hospital’s annual report.
Dr Hamza Ali Khan talked about diabetes and its complications. Professor Dr Najeebul Haq in his address talked about life style changes in diabetes from the Islamic angle. He narrated the saying of Holy Prophet PBUH: “Divide your stomach into three parts, for food, air and water.” He informed people of the connection between diabetes and HCV, and remarked that both were common cause of deaths in today’s world.
