QUETTA: The students of three medical institutions in Balochistan stopped their hunger strike and sit-in protest.
The Chief Minister of Balochistan sent a letter to the Health Secretary, which Sohail Rehman, Commissioner, Quetta, delivered to the students. Five students on hunger strike received juice from the Commissioner during a hospital visit.
Three new medical colleges in Khuzdar, Turbat, and Loralai have been protesting against a decision by the Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC) to require students to take new examinations for registration with the PMC.
There had been a sit-in in front of the Quetta Press Club for 77 days by students protesting the PMC conditions, and five students had been on a hunger strike for the previous eight days.
