SINGAPORE: Lee Hsien Loong, Prime Minister of the Republic of Singapore, stated that "nearly half" of the members of India's lower house of parliament had criminal accusations against them.
As a result, the Government of India had summoned Singapore's ambassador to explain the allegations made by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Singapore.
According to Lee, "Nehru's India has become one where almost half the Lok Sabha MPs... have criminal charges pending against them, including charges of rape and murder."
