700 candidates compete in entrance examination at JSMU

KARACHI: The entrance exam was held at Jinnah Sindh Medical University. The entrance exam was for a four-year degree programme, Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology (BSMT) of the Institute of Medical Technology (IMT-JSMU).

All 900 optimistic students registered for admissions, but only 700 candidates were determined to be suitable for 150 seats in the BSMT programme, according to the Office of Admissions.

Prof Shahid Rasul, the acting Vice-Chancellor of JSMU, said that JSMU selects the sharpest brains from the province and its medical technology programme aims to develop devoted and competent professionals by leveraging the most up-to-date technologies.

Examination venues were visited by Dr Azam Khan, Fatima Abid, Dr Muhammad Imran, and Qazi Shabbir, as well as Dr Fatima Abid.

Under the Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology (BSMT) programme, students can choose from eight concentrations, including Cardiac Perfusion and Cardiovascular Sciences; Clinical Laboratory Sciences; Respiratory Therapy; Clinical Care Sciences; Nuclear Medicine and Radiotherapy; Operation Theater Sciences; Radiological Imaging; and Dental Technology and Hygiene.

For the exam, admissions personnel organised invigilators at each testing location, as well as other support staff. Dr Fatima Abid, The Director of Admissions at JSMU, stated that all admissions are based solely on qualifications and merit.
