Jacobabad DC, SSP removed over lapse in polio teams’ security

KARACHI: Sindh government has removed Jacobabad deputy commissioner (DC), senior superintendent of police (SSP) and the district health officer (DHO), taking notice of a reported lapse in the security arrangements for polio workers in the district.
As per an official notification, the SSP has been instructed to report to the Central Police Office (CPO), while the DC will report to the Services, General Administration, and Coordination Department (S&GAD). 
The DHO was also dismissed due to failure in ensuring the protection of polio workers.
The provincial government reiterated its commitment to safeguarding polio workers, stressing that any lapses in security will not be tolerated.
