AIDS Control Program (SACP) has decided to open
HIV Treatment Centre in Sindh Government
Lyari General Hospital,
Karachi and formal inauguration ceremony of new centre would be held next week.

AIDS Control Program (SACP), Dr Muhammad Younis Chachar, said three rooms had been acquired from
Lyari General Hospital administration for establishment of
HIV treatment Centre in health facility. He said new centre would be made operational from next week.
He informed that two more
HIV Treatment Centres at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center and Abbasi Shaheed Hospital would also be made functional very soon. He informed that two rooms has been acquired from JPMC management while a hall was obtained from ASH administration to setup
HIV Treatment Centre s in these health facilities.
Dr Chachar said with approval of competent authority, seven new
HIV Treatment Centres would be made operational across the Sindh province in phases. He informed that these centres would be established in
Karachi, Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, Sukkur and Nawabshah, respectively. He said new centres would help to cater
HIV patients at local level.

HIV Treatment Centers were already been operating in Civil Hospital
Karachi, Indus Hospital
Karachi, Aga Khan Hospital and Two in Larkana District to control the prevalence of
HIV disease.
