NTC Meet With SHCC To Tackle 'Hakims', Anti Quackery

A delegation of the National Tibb Council (NTC) comprising of President Hakeem Muhammad Ahmad Saleemi and Vice President NTC Hakeem Sirajuddin Chandio visited the Sindh Health Care Commission (SHCC) and met with Dr Ahson Qavi Siddiqui to discuss matters related to licensing procedures and the Anti-Quackery drive, directed particularly towards practicing ‘hakims’.

During the meeting, the CEO was accompanied by Director Anti-Quackery and Director Licensing. The concerns shown by the visiting delegation were addressed in detail, and positive solutions from both sides were noted and agreed upon for implementation in future.

The NTC delegation committed to providing all possible support and facilitation to work for the joint mission of eradicating quackery by ‘fake hakims’.

The NTC also promised to assist SHCC staff in targeting the illegally operating hakims within the community by assuring them to provide reference material and SOPs to the commission.

The SHCC assured the delegation of their constant support and pledged to work together for the province’s future by training and developing staff to help improve their communication and knowledge skills.

The President of the National Tibb Council appreciated the professional attitude and conduct of the current management.

The meeting ended in a positive tone for collaborations in future.
