Physiotherapy Conference Opens In Dubai

Dubai – UAE:  Under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, UAE Minister of Finance and President of Dubai Health Authority, the 6th Biennial Emirates Physiotherapy Conference (PHYSIO UAE 2018) opened at the Conrad Hotel, Dubai, United Arab Emirates. This conference was designed for the healthcare professionals to discuss the ever-evolving field of physiotherapy and rehabilitation.

PHYSIO UAE 2018 was organized by Emirates Physiotherapy Society (EPS) who aims to use deliver excellent healthcare outcomes in physiotherapy and connect renowned speakers from different parts of the world to share their knowledge and ideas in the field of musculoskeletal physiotherapy and rehabilitation, at an academic, conceptual and clinical level.

In his opening address, HE Humaid Al Qutami, Director-General of the Dubai Health Authority stated “The Emirates Physiotherapy Society has been keen to extend bridges of cooperation with various professional institutions around the world, especially the World Confederation for Physical Therapy since obtaining its membership representing the United Arab Emirates. This biennial conference serves as a platform for the leading practitioners in the field from all over the world to share the most recent research outcomes in the clinical practice of physiotherapy.”

AmalAlshamlan, President of Emirates Physiotherapy Society, and
Chairman of the Conference, said that, “This year, we have received 110 abstracts from all over the world. This is one of the indicators of growth and development of the conference, since its inception in 2006. We have invited distinguished speakers to share their latest studies and findings, in addition to their practical experiences through the conference program and workshops.”

This year, PHYSIO UAE 2018 showcased 11 international stellar faculties with over 15 different sessions, consisting of keynote lectures and poster sessions. Over 80 free papers were submitted for the conference, covering a vast array of topics, ranging from tendinopathies (diseases of the tendon), neuropathies (general diseases or malfunctions of the nerves) to the management of sports injuries, and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal conditions. There will be special focus on pediatrics, covering respiratory condition’s rehabilitation in children and early interventions of developmental disorders. Six pre and post-conference courses were scheduled, covering Musculoskeletal and Pediatrics rehabilitation scope
