The infectious disease control hospitals would be established in Hyderabad, Sukkur, Larkana, Shaheed Benazirabad, and Mirpurkhas. Each hospital would be constructed at the cost of PKR 2 billion. This step has been taken to control the spread of infectious diseases in the province.
The Sindh Government has also planned to establish the Makhdoom Muhammad Zaman Talib ul Mola Medical College and Tertiary Care Hospital in taluka Hala District Matiari at the cost of PKR 4 billion and PKR 200 million would be allocated for this project in the upcoming budget.
The government also proposed the construction of bio-safety laboratories in seven hospitals including the Civil Hospital Karachi(CHK), Ojha Institute of Chest Diseases Karachi, Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences(LUMHS) Jamshoro, Khairpur Medical College, Peoples Medical College Shaheed Benazirabad, Ghulam Muhammad Mahar Medical College, and Chandka Medical College Larkana at the cost of more than PKR 300 million.
The laboratories of District Headquarter Hospitals (DHQs) would be upgraded at the cost of PKR 500 million.
