KARACHI: Due to the ongoing heatwave, approximately 200 cases of heat exhaustion and heat stroke were reported at a medical camp established by Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) during Ashura processions.
JPMC Executive Director Dr. Shahid Rasool says the camp set up by the institution treated 200 heat-affected individuals by 1 pm.
The extreme heat conditions severely impacted the health of mourners participating in the Ashura processions, necessitating immediate first aid.
Dr. Rasool advised citizens to stay hydrated with cold drinks and cover their heads with wet towels when outdoors during extreme heat.
