Global mental health experts to convene at PPRC 2024 in Karachi

KARACHI: The International Psychosocial & Psychiatric Rehabilitation Conference (PPRC) 2024 will take place on December 20-21 at the Marriott Hotel, Karachi. This two-day event aims to bring together global experts to address key issues in mental health, psychosocial rehabilitation, and the challenges the world faces in these areas.
The conference will focus on the latest advancements in mental health care, the growing role of technology, the importance of mental health awareness, and the evolving contribution of spirituality to well-being. Other key discussions will explore trends in self-care and wellness, offering valuable insights for both professionals in the field and the general public.
The Chairman of the Organizing Committee, Dr. Minhaj Qidwai, announced during the inauguration ceremony that the event will also feature a prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award to be presented to Dr. Azra Fazal Pechuho, the Minister of Health for the Government of Sindh, in recognition of her outstanding contributions to public health.

Additionally, experts Mr. Ameer B. Khoso and Ms. Muqaddas Asif will be delivering insightful talks on "Learning through Play Plus: A Group Parenting Intervention for Depressed Fathers" and "Addressing Tobacco-Related Multiple Long-Term Conditions in Individuals with Severe Mental Illness", respectively.
The event will also feature two Pre-Conference Workshops on Value of Spirituality in Healthcare with 5S’s Approach by Dr. Minhaj Qidwai, Prof. Asif Ahmed, and Prof. Dr. Kashif Ikram and Trauma-Informed Care: A Framework for Service Providers by Prof. Salman Shahzad, Prof. Zainab Zadeh, and Ms. Sana Farooq.
