Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to revive Karachi Circular Railway

ISLAMABAD: Shehbaz Sharif, Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, asked China for help with the revival of the Karachi Circular Railway (KCR) project, which would end the commuters' misery in the city.

KCR would be a "gift" for the people of Karachi and bring a lot of money to the city, he said.

He further stated that Beijing, the NDRC, and President Xi Jinping should think about supporting Karachi's KCR, adding that the project's completion would make people in Karachi and the rest of the country very happy with China when it was done.

It was stated during his speech that Prime Minister Shehbaz thanked China for "helping Pakistan's economy grow." He thanked China for supporting Pakistan at all international events.

Nearly 50,000 people are expected to use the Islamabad Metro Bus Service project every day. It will run for 11 kilometres from Peshawar Morr to Islamabad International Airport and will help people get around. 

The project was supposed to start in 2018, but it was put on hold until 2019.

It took a while for the project to start, and the prime minister blamed the PTI for that. He said that cutting the cost from Rs16 billion to Rs12 billion caused a lot of damage to the project's completion.

Shehbaz Sharif said that even though the PTI had money to finish public projects, the previous government didn't have the desire to help people.

There were mass transit projects in Lahore and Rawalpindi, and Multan when the PML-N government was in power before, the prime minister said. He said that PTI lawyers had tried to stop those projects several times, claiming that they had been bribed.

"It took more than two years for the Orange Line train in Lahore to get built because PTI sued. In the end, the court gave the project a clean bill of health and said there was not a single ounce of corruption. "He said that.

Shehbaz Sharif also said that he would make sure that all of the projects that were important to the public but were put on hold or delayed would be done quickly.

He said that during the month of Ramadan, the metro bus service for people would be free.

Shehbaz Sharif, Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, said that a mobile app would make it easier for people to get to the buses that would come every five minutes and the shuttle that would come to a stop every 25 minutes. The blue line bus will start on the Rawat-Islamabad Airport route, he said.
