KARACHI- Water Commission Chief Justice (r) Amir Hani Muslim along with his team, visited Dr. Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK), Sindh Government Lyari General Hospital (LGH) and Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) to review cleanliness, provision of potable water and medical wastage disposal.
During the visit at Dr. Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK), Amir Hani Muslim expressed his annoyance over improper medical wastage disposal within the health facility and absence of incinerator. He also visited different wards of the hospital and reviewed the cleanliness situation.
He summoned the concerned contractor and administration Civil Hospital Karachi to appear before him, to discuss issues over delay in installation work of the incinerator.
Medical superintendent, CHK, Dr. Muhammad Taufiq, briefed the Water Commission team and informed that steps are being taken for the installation of the incinerator for proper disposal of medical wastage.
At Sindh Government Lyari General Hospital, Karachi, Justice Amir Hani visited the garbage dumping point and reviewed the installation process of newly purchased incinerator. They also took notice of the absence of a water filter for clean drinking water. Medical Superintendent, Lyari General Hospital, Karachi, Dr. Muhammad Aslam Pechucho, apprised the commission that incinerator installation is underway, while the RO plant will be installed soon.
Executive Director, Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC), Dr. Seemin Jamali, stated post inspection, that the Water Commission Team visited their Sterilization Unit Site, New Surgical Building, College of Nursing and Water Filter Plant. Chief Justice (r) Amir Hani Muslim appreciated JPMC’s Administration over provision of clean drinking water and overall cleanliness of the hospital.
