MULTAN: The Punjab government formed a six-member committee to investigate the incident following the discovery of the remains and the online dissemination of videos and photographs.

In addition, the vice-chancellor of Nishtar Medical University has established a three-member team to investigate the occurrence.

A letter dated October 13, 2022, was also addressed to the hospital's medical superintendent, requesting a comprehensive investigation report within three days.

The Punjab chief minister, Chaudhry Pervez Elahi, has taken note of the abandoned bodies and requested a report from the Punjab secretary of specialized healthcare and medical education.

Multiple unidentified and decomposing remains were discovered on the roof of the mortuary at Nishtar Hospital in Multan, prompting the government to investigate the matter.

The chief minister of Punjab stated that an inhumane act had been done by tossing the remains onto the top and that the responsible employees should face severe disciplinary action.

In contrast, former federal minister Moonis Elahi provided an update on the situation via Twitter, attaching the initial statement of the department head of anatomy at Nishtar Medical University.

The HOD reasoned that these are the unidentified bodies given to them by the police for post-mortem examination and, "if necessary," for use in educating MBBS students.
