ICME 2015 begins in Turkey

Istanbul: The International Conference on Medical Education, organized by the Riphah International University started on 15th October at the Halic Congress Center in Istanbul, Turkey.

The ICME is a biennial event of Riphah International University, Pakistan. Fourth International Conference, ICME 2015 held in the historic city of Istanbul from 15-18 October, 2015 to share and discuss the future challenges in health professions education.

The Conference provides an ideal opportunity for the leaders, teachers, learners and administrators across the globe to discuss the upcoming issues and challenges in Health professions education. This year's theme, “Future Challenges in Health Professions Education", reflects the current debate in medical education about issues and problems in Health Professions Education. Highlights of this year conference include dynamic international renowned keynote speakers, master classes from leading educators, seminars, symposia and workshops .International Conference on Medical Education (ICME) a regular event, which is an enduring and credible platform for health professionals across the globe. It provides experience, modernizes knowledge and publicizes latest advances as discovered from subject experts and serves this purpose to help bridge the gap between the developed and the developing nations.

The conference will cover areas like Understand internal and external challenges confronting health professions educations issues both nationally and internationally. Develop strategies and recommendations to cope with the future context based challenges by using the best evidence based medical education. Maintain excellence by promoting scholarship of teaching and demonstrating the attributes of 21st century teacher. Share the challenges & issues in; growth of knowledge, societal issues, technology evolution, student's involvement and support in curriculum, health care reform, accreditations and social accountability. Suggest the strategies to deal with the challenges & issues in curriculum implementation, student's assessment, teaching and learning, teaching & assessment of professionalism, program evaluation,role of leadership and outcomes of faculty development programs.

The feather is definitely a feather in the cap of RARE who have developed a global forum for Pakistan's medical education and healthcare.
